In short, scalp micropigmentation is a highly specialised process of tattooing the scalp with thousands of tiny micro-dots in order to give the resemblance of stubble – a short buzz-cut appearance which looks best when the hair is kept really short. This procedure takes years off your appearance!
To the experienced practitioner, scalp micro pigmentation is essentially a simple medical procedure, it is non-invasive and there is no down time. A specialised pigment (which is not prone to migration) is matched to your existing hair colour (if any exists) or skin tone and a hairline is designed based on the face proportions. Then the process of adding thousands of micro-dots to the scalp begins – focussing on the areas of thinning hair, creating a seamless even flow throughout. The same process may be used to camouflage a variety of head scars. Numbing solutions are available, however, minimal pain is experienced as the pigment placement is shallow.
This procedure is charged according to the applicable Norwood scale for men or Ludwig scale for women – see pics in the gallery.
While this can be a time-consuming procedure, it is a truly excellent alternative – fast-growing in popularity, should available retail therapies not be working for you. Easily takes 10 to 15 years off your appearance!

There are a variety of products available which, in short, is applied in a similar method to the original tattoo and is essentially designed to draw the tattoo pigment/ink out of the skin – ultimately removing the unwanted tattoo over a period of two to six months. The treatments are usually repeated over 3 to 5 treatments, spaced at six to eight week intervals – depending on the individual condition, size and saturation of the original tattoo. These tattoo removal methods are better suited to smallish tattoos. Unwanted permanent makeup is usually removed in one or two sessions.
This form of tattoo removal is highly effective and usually leaves minimal scarring (if any) and is a more cost effective solution to laser, which may ‘read’ (and therefore remove only) limited colours or surgical removal – which will usually leave scars.
